The dispute for the fingerprint reader underneath the screen began.New reports indicate that the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 + will include a fingerprint reader under the display.
That means Sammy will leave the button at the back – in fact, in that unpleasant place next to the camera – for an integrated solution. The report also indicates that Samsung already receives samples from up to four different companies to manufacture such hardware: Synaptics, BeyondEyes, LSI (from Samsung itself) and Egis, according to Business Insider.
For the button under the screen to work correctly, Samsung may use a technology that allows the OLED to work as the fingerprint reader. In this way, the impact on the battery autonomy would be less.
But how does this work, explaining simply? The user should place a finger on the OLED screen and then the pixels below the finger will light up and will be able to “read” the user’s digital data.
